The rejuvenated Arnett Gardens scored the biggest win clobbering Sporting Central Academy 4-0 at Brancourt in the Cash Plus Premier League. Four of Arnett's January signings — Onandi Lowe, Oneil Robinson, Fabian Davis and Garfield Rennicks — all scored. The towering Lowe opened the floodgate in the 11th minute with the hard-working Robinson netting a rare goal in the 45th. Former national player Fabian Davis then made it 3-0 in the 66th minute before Rennick completing the rout in the 86th. Arnett, which has been struggling for most of the second round, jumped two places to eighth on 28 points. The Junglist continue their unbeaten run under coach Jerome Waite to seven games inclusive of three wins and four 1-1 draws. The Clarendon-based Sporting Central dropped a spot from eight to ninth on 26 points.
Meanwhile at the Drewsland, leader Portmore United were held to a 1-1 draw by home team Waterhouse. Anthony Bennett had given Portmore an early lead in the second minute but Roberto Fletcher earned a share of the points for Waterhouse with a 39th minute equaliser. Portmore with their eighth draw of the season inched to 44 points but saw their lead cut to just one point by Tivoli Gardens. Waterhouse remain in third spot on 37 points.
At the Edward Seaga Stadium, the title chasing Tivoli gardens turned in a work-man-like performance to blank August Town 2-0. Sheldon Palmer benefitted from a terrible error from goalkeeper Devon Haughton to open the scoring in the 14th minute. Haughton, normally composed in goal miskicked and gifted Palmer the easiest of goal as he tapped into an empty net. But for all their dominance in took a goal from substitute Jermaine Taylor in the 89th minute to ease the fans nerves and secure maximum points. Taylor played a beautiful one-two with Roland Dean before side-footing home from close range. Tivoli Gardens with their league high 13th win of the campaign move to 43 points, in second spot, just a point behind Portmore United. For August Town they seemed to going in the different direction falling to their 13th loss and remained at the bottom of the 12-team league on 21 points.
Champions Harbour View continued their wretched run and had to wait in time added for a 2-2 draw with Reno at STETHS. Dwayne Plummer gave home team Reno a 17th minute lead before Rafiek Thomas levelled for Harbour View in the 42nd as the half ended 1-1. Nicholy Finlayson thought he had given Reno victory with seven minutes remaining after he scored in the 83rd minute but once again Harbour View drew level. Substitute Andre Fagan earned a valuable share of the points with in the 92nd minute. Luckily for Harbour View they remain only 10 points behind the leader on 34 point but drop a spot to fifth place. The champions are struggling having not won a game in six outings. Reno starting the day in ninth also drop a spot to be in 10th place on 26 points after failing to win in their last five matches.
At Collie Smith Drive, home team Boys' Town continued their quiet run to the leaders with a comfortable 2-0 win over Seba United. Last season's MVP George Vernal netted both goals in 32nd and 89th minutes for Boys' Town eight win of the season. The Red Brigades leapfrogged Harbour View into fourth on 35 points while Seba remained in seventh spot on 31 points.
Over in Portland, at Lynch Park, home team St George's had to settle for a 0-0 draw with the improving Village United. The Trelawny-based Village have not lost in five games and have climbed off the bottom since the start of the third round. They however remained in 11th spot on 23 points, some three points from relegation safety with 14 games to go. St George's slipped a spot to sixth on 33 points and realistically, are still in the hunt for the title, just 11 points off the leader.
