Rivoli United joined Meadhaven as the two qualifiers to the next season's National Premier League (NPL) after crushing the hapless Wadadah 11-0 while Meadhaven blanked York United 2-0. Rivoli United of St Catherine was making a return to the top flight after two years while Meadhaven of Kingston and St Andrew created history by qualifying for the first time. At the Spanish Town Prison Oval, the prolific Devon Hodges netted four goals in the 12th, 38th, 64th and 74th minutes to end the playoff with eight goals. David Lewis in the 55th & 85th along with Fidel Anderson (51st), Mark Wint (78th), Ricardo Dixon (81st), Ricardo Knight (83rd) and Barrington Planter (90th) complimented the rout. Rivoli finished second in the four-team group on 11 points while Wadadah of St James ended pointless from six games and it will be the first time a team from MoBay will not be in the premier league. Over at the York Sports Complex in St Thomas, the home team York United was hoping for a win and prayed that Rivoli lost but that was not to be as they crashed 0-2 to Meadhaven. National Under-20 striker Keammar Daley opened the scoring in the fourth minute to pierce the hearts of the York faithful before Shawn Hunter sealed the win in the 86th minute. Meadhaven which won the KSAFA Super league for the first time, replaced another KSAFA team August Town that had been relegated. The Alrick Clarke-coach team finished on top of the playoffs with an impressive 16 points out of a possible 18, inclusive of five wins and a draw. York, which started the day in third spot on seven points, just one behind Rivoli did themselves proud but St Thomas will have to wait another year before a team from the eastern parish make it back to the top flight.
