As Jamaica prepares to take on Peru on Wednesday, November 15, listed below is a brief overview of the list of invitees to represent the National Senior Men’s Team

 

 

Luton Shelton
Forward


Luton is a very fast player with excellent goal scoring ability. He has represented Jamaica at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels. He has 19 National Senior Caps. He played for Wolmers in the Manning cup schoolboy competition and played for Harbour View in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League. Luton now represents the Swedish club Helsinborgs.

 

 Jermaine Hue

Midfielder

 

Jermaine Hue is a skilful midfielder with good vision with the ability to dominate games with his accurate defence-splitting passes. Hue represented Harbour View FC in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League and now he plies his trade with Mjallby in Swedish Premier League. Hue has 28 National Senior Caps.

 

 Jermaine Johnson
Midfielder


Jermaine “teddy” Johnson is a very explosive player and skilful dribbler. A former Manning Cup Football player for Tivoli Comprehensive High School, he has represented Jamaica at various youth levels. Jermaine represented Tivoli Garden FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League and now play for Bradford City in England. He has 42 National Senior Caps.

 

 Omar Daley
Midfielder


Omar “ratty” Daley is a young, aggressive and confident midfielder. He is a hard worker that exhibits good dribbling skills. He is a capable shooting with both feet and can score from long-range. Omar played for Portmore United in Jamaica and now represents Charleston Battery in the USA. He has represented the Senior team 28 times.

 

 Shavar Thomas
Defender

Shavar Thomas is a young defender who shows good composure, technical ability and reads the game well. He has represented Jamaica at every youth level. Shavar Thomas played for Hazard United F.C. in National Premier League before playing college soccer at the University of Connecticut in the USA. He was named an NSCAA second team All-American and was selected 10th overall in the 2003 MLS Super Draft by the Dallas Burn. In 2004, Shavar was traded to the Kansas City Wizards and has established himself as a solid center back for one of the league's best defensive teams.     

 

 Jason Euell

Forward

 

Euell is quite a versatile player and has an eye for the goal. The former England Under-21 international enjoys taking on defenders and he has shown his knack for coolness in the penalty area with a steady goal scoring ratio. He has 4 National Caps and represents Charlton Athletic in England.

 

 Ricardo Fuller
Forward

 

Ricardo Fuller is a product of Jamaica's youth football system. Fuller is a gifted and talented player. Fans named him Wily Boo because of his slick moves and dribbling skills while he played for Tivoli Gardens FC in the National Premier League.

Ricardo had a successful trial stint with Charlton Athletic. He soon joined up with Crystal Palace in February 2001 and then, he was acquired by Hearts in the Scottish league. Fuller scored 31 goals in only 63 appearances for Preston North End over two seasons. He subsequently departed for Portsmouth and then he went Southampton. He currently plays for Stoke City in England. Ricardo has 55 National Caps.

 

 Damion Stewart

Defender


Damion "Stew Peas" Stewart is a powerful central defender. He has become a vital player in the defensive machinery of the Reggae Boyz. Damion played for Harbour View in Jamaica, Bradford City in England and most recently signed with the English Premier League club, Queens Park Rangers. He has represented Jamaica 36 times at the senior level.

 

 Fabian Davis

Defender

 

Fabian “fabulous” Davis is a veteran of the Jamaican National Team with over 70 appearances and plays with grit and determination. He represented Kingston College in the Manning Cup and played club football for a number of local clubs including former NPL champions Harbour View FC and Arnett Gardens FC. Davis now represents the Tivoli Gardens FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League.

 

 Claude Davis
Defender


Claude is a strong center-half who is hard working and a good reader of the game. Claude has progressed through the national programmes. Formerly of Portmore United, Claude now plays for Sheffield United in the English Premier League. He has 56 National CAPS

 

Leon Strickland

Midfielder

 

Leon represented the National U-23 in recent years. He is currently the top goal scorer in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League where he plays for Arnett Gardens FC.

 

Kavan Bryan

Midfielder

 

Kavan made his debut in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League by playing for Harbour View FC where he is their leading goal scorer. This is Kavan’s first invitation to represent the National Senior Team.

 

 Wilfred Smith

Midfielder

 

Wilfred represents Seba United in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League. Wilfred has three National Caps and has scored in each of his games for Jamaica. He made his National Senior Team debut in the 2006-2007 Digicel Caribbean Cup.

 

 Carlington Smith

Forward

 

Carlington is a former National U-23 invitee. He now represents Portmore United FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League.

 

 Fabian Dawkins

Midfielder

 

Fabian Dawkins has represented the National Senior Team 15 times. He represented Village United in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League. Fabian now plays for the Atlanta Silverbacks in the USA

 

 Sean Fraser

Forward

 

Sean has represented Jamaica at the U-17, U20 and U-23 levels. He also represented Harbour View FC and Portmore United FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League, now Sean represents Miami FC in the USA

 

 Lovel Palmer

Midfielder

 

Lovel has represented Jamaica at the U-17 and U-20 levels. He’s is very quick and has a good eye for identifying critical passes. He currently represents Harbour View FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League. Lovel has 6 National Caps.

 

 Xavian Virgo

Midfielder

 

Xavian played his first game for the National Senior Team in the 2006 – 2007 Digicel Caribbean Cup. He represents Boys Town FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League.

 

 Richard McCallum

Goal Keeper

 

Richard made his debut for the National Senior Team in the 2006 – 2007 Digicel Caribbean Cup. He currently represents Waterhouse FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League.

 

 Shawn Sawyers

Goal Keeper

 

Shawn has represented the National Senior Team 18 times. He currently represents Portmore United in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League.

 

 Demar Philips

Midfielder

 

Demar is a former National U-23 player. He currently represents Waterhouse FC in the Wray & Nephew National Premier League. Demar has four National Caps.
