National U-17 team steps up its preparation

 After the recent victory over the current U-17 World Champions Mexico, the National U-17 team resumed its preparation for the 2007 CONCACAF U-17 Tournament on February 17th. The tournament is the final stage of qualification to the 2007 FIFA World Cup in the South Korea August 18 – September 9.

 Jamaica hosts Group B of the Tournament April 28 – May 6. Group B includes Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica (hosts), Trinidad & Tobago and the USA. The top three teams in the group qualify to the World Cup.

In this phase of preparation improved attention is being placed on the nutritional support, tools for training and practice matches.

 

The squad continues to live together at the Players’ Residence whilst attending schools in Kingston.
