President Crenston Boxhill, announces two International Friendly Matches including a “Digicel International Match” at the Office Ladies and Gentlemen, at the end of last year when Jamaica’s new Technical Director was introduced to Jamaica, the JFF indicated that it was its intention to feed our players and indeed our fans with a steady diet of international friendlies as we build up to the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers, with the first match at the CONCACAF level now set for February 2008. As has been indicated by the Technical Director, participation in and preparation for the Olympics in China in 2008, will be a major test in relation to the country’s preparation. In this regard the participation and success of the Olympic squad in the Lunar Cup in Hong Kong recently must be seen as part of the process of preparation for players who could very much make their way into our 2010 World Cup squad. That is why participation in that tournament was so important. It was the kick off. Now Ladies and Gentlemen we step up the pace, the competition and the matches. Over the next two weeks the Senior Team as will be put together by Technical Director Bora, will be in two international friendly engagements, one away and one at the Office. On March 22 at the Lockhart Stadium, in Fort Lauderdale our Senior Men’s Team will match up against the currently highly ranked number fourteen team ………Switzerland.
